Purpose:
 
  1. Provide a water seal between a dwelling sink or lavatory fixture and the sewer system to eliminate harmful gases from entering the building.
  2. The cleaning features reduce blockage, reduce bacterial buildup, and reduces blockages of downstream piping.
Unique Characteristics:
 
  1. A water seal between basin and sewer system
  2. A conduit geometry to create turbulence to improve self cleaning characteristics
  3. A by-pass mode to provide permanent flow should the primary conduit be blocked
  4. A transparent design to be able to observe the condition of the drain and perform preventative maintenance and view lost articles
  5. A cleaning paddle to remove debris
  6. A paddle to prevent lost articles from being lost in the sewer system
  7. A paddle to facilitate the removal of lost articles
